Please read the following article in full before cooking with Amanita muscaria (Fly Agarics)

A Study of Cultural Bias in Field Guide Determinations
of Mushroom Edibility Using the Iconic Mushroom, Amanita
muscaria, as an Example
WILLIAM RUBEL AND DAVID ARORA

IMPORTANT: Apart from the water soluable components mentioned in my article and by Rubel and Arora, namely, muscarin, ibotenic acid and muscamol, there is also an insoluble toxic type of amino acid called MUSCAZONE that occurs in Amanita muscaria fungi. This occurs in relatively small amounts, and I have eaten leached Fly Agarics safely many times without destroying this potential toxin. Nevertheless, if you wish to be absolutely safe, rather than boil the fungi, pressure cook them for 10-15 minutes instead at 200 degrees celcius. Muscazove decomposes above 190 degrees.
